Feature Screenplays

AS THE ANGELS GIVE: In the near future, where prisons have been replaced by a drug that rehabilitates convicts using their own consciences, an innocent man fights to preserve his sanity at all costs.

1st Runner Up - Creative World Awards, 2016

Finalist - Richmond International Film Festival, 2017

Semi-Finalist - Screenplay Festival, 2017

I co-wrote this with Dan Seiler, my friend from Sei-Ber Films, who you can find hanging out in the 'people' section. It's our first script together, and is currently making the rounds in a few screenplay competitions. Wish us luck!

NEW AVALON: An unstable young neuroscientist joins forces with the US Army to defeat her estranged father, whose technological rampage threatens to subvert the foundations of humanity.

Finalist - Pulsar Sci-Fi Screenplay Contest, 2012

Second Prize - 5th Annual StoryPros Awards Screenplay Contest, 2012

This is my first feature-length script, a fun, action-packed science-fiction yarn about brain-hacking.

SABOTEURS: The story of three Colorado women who become environmental activists when an oil company threatens to destroy their homes.

I co-wrote the latest draft of this with Julia Andersen, my friend from the Denver Screenwriters, who you can find hanging out in the 'people' section.

Role-Playing Games

Fae Bay - A role-playing game/activity book I wrote for my nieces during the first year of the coronavirus pandemic. It is divided into twenty three different sessions, each targeting ninety minutes of play-time. We played this once a week, taking time off during vacations and whatnot, but basically this carried us through year one of the pandemic, when we were all stuck inside and schools were still trying to figure out remote learning. The girls liked it enough that I took some time to fix some of the glaring flaws, add some artwork and tidy it up into a nice little (it's actually more enormous than little) PDF. It is available for purchase on Itch.IO, and also has a demo if you would like to try it out with your kids to see if they like it before diving into months and months of RPG'ing.

Short Scripts

Some of these were produced during my time at the Colorado Film School (which I've marked with a *), others were simply writing projects or scripts I have written since finishing.

REVENGE OF THE ICENIAN QUEEN: A retelling of the story of Boudica, a Briton queen who took her revenge on the occupying Romans.

THE TICKET: A desolate father of two, living on scraps and whatever work he can find, wins the lottery. How he came by the ticket is another story.

BUD AND MAXIDAN VS. THE INTERNET: Two backwater hicks with no understanding of computers decide Microsoft's new "cloud" technology is a bid to take over the sky. They decide to stop this act of aggression at all costs. The first episode of a proposed Internet short series.

LIFE BEFORE: A young man's life radically changes when he commits an act of violence to rescue two young girls from their abductor.

MY DIGITAL SELF HATES ME*: A man in drastic need of changing his life is hounded by his digital alter-ego.

THE INSPIRATION OF AUDRIENNE ST. CLAIRE: A young man writes a thousand stories, one each day, all concerned with one obscure painting hanging in the back corner of an Art Museum.

THE MAKING OF ARS ABSTRACTICA: A documentary film crew attempts to produce a piece on an abstract artist.

Short Stories

COPPER CHARLEY: A corporate executive teams with a socially awkward scientist to develop a new biological technology in an effort to save his failing company.

Television

CASTLE - "Recursion": Beckett and Castle return to the moment they first met when their latest case leads them back to a familiar crime scene.

Finalist - ACCLAIM TV Script Writing Contest, Fall 2010

This is a spec script I wrote for ABC's Castle. This was my first attempt at writing mystery and it came together really well. I love the show and had a great time writing the spec script.
